The Paro Valley Trek is a stunning journey through terraced farmlands, dense pine forests, and traditional Bhutanese villages. Itinerary
Arrival in Paro
Arrive at Paro International Airport, meet your guide, and transfer to the hotel. Evening stroll through Paro town and visit the Rinpung Dzong.
Paro to Shana
Trek begins from the road head at Drukgyel Dzong. Walk through terraced fields and along the Paro Chhu river to the campsite at Shana.
Shana to Thangthangkha
Ascend through rhododendron and juniper forests. Cross several suspension bridges and enjoy views of cascading waterfalls.
Thangthangkha to Jangothang
This is the most scenic day, with views of Mount Chomolhari. Reach Jangothang, a beautiful valley with turquoise glacial lakes.
Acclimatisation Day at Jangothang
Rest day with an optional hike to Tshophu Lake. Stunning views of the surrounding peaks and time to explore the high plateau.
Jangothang to Thangthangkha
Descend back through the beautiful valley, retracing the route with new perspectives of the mountains and forests.
Return to Paro & Departure
Trek back to the road head, drive to Paro. Visit the famous Tiger's Nest Monastery before transferring to the airport for departure.
